Section 12
Eligibility of Candidates
A person must fulfill the following qualifications to be a candidate in an election:-
(a) Citizens of Nepal,
(b) whose name is included in the electoral roll,
(c) having completed twenty-five years of age,
(d) is not disqualified by any federal law, and
(e) Not holding any position of profit. Explanation: For the purpose of Clause (e), "office of profit" means any other office in receipt of remuneration or pecuniary benefit from any government fund other than a political office filled by election or nomination.
